Show Certified Seed Potatoes If you are going to need certified seed potatoes this spring you should see your county agent at once. A truck will be sent in the very near future to get what potatoes are wanted want-ed for seed plots, and it will cost considerably con-siderably more to get them if they are not secured in this shipment. The two i kinds available are Russel Burbank ' and the Irish Cobbler. There are few bulletins left on the ! Feeding and Brooding of baby chicks. If you want one you can get it by applying ap-plying to your county agent. Don't forget to condition the brood sow for her work for the next month or six weeks. Most sows are kept entirely for the litters they produce each spring and fall. If they are neglected at farrowing time and just preceeding, of times the litters will not pay for the feed already eaten. Give the sows plenty of room to exercise ex-ercise and try to have her gaining in flesh, provided she is not already too fat. Feed laxative feeds containing a high percentage of protein, and the pigs will be stronger and will make quicker, cheaper gains. |
