Show SOUTHERN UTAH ! SHOULD HAVE BIG ! TOURIST SEASON Every indication points to the coming com-ing season as probably the best tourist tour-ist season in history. That southern Utah will be the Mecca of thousands of these pleasure-seekers pleasure-seekers is indicated by a tourist project pro-ject involving a $550,000 outlay and including hotel, camp and allied facilities faci-lities on Oe north rim of the Grand Canyon which will be completed by the opening of the summer season. The Utah Parks Service Operating company of the Union Pacific will handle the concession. The North Rim, Zion Park and Eryce canyon will draw a larger increase in-crease in percentage of tourist travel this season than other parks. Our cool summer climate, shade, pure water and mountains should be sufficient suffi-cient to induce many of these tourist to stop over and enjoy our fishing and local scenery. As all of ,the mountain and Pacific Pa-cific "coast states are advertising scenic attractions, most of the tourists tour-ists should pass through Utah either going or coming, and of those who enter the state a large majority will stop long enough to get a line on what we have to offer in the way of scenery and they will come back to see all there is to be seen. Tourist travel is increasing each year in this country, and during the summer months there are millions of men, women and children bowling ulong the roads east and west," north and south. So it behooves Utah to maintain the best possible highways, in order that we- may secure our share of the tourist trade. We have the climate and the scenery as attractions at-tractions and we should not hesitate when it comes to tooting our horn. |
