Dr. Kate Waller Barrett, newly elected president of the American Le- Y 4 Hl (1 - f $ fa Dr. Kate Barrett glon auxiliary, was one of five women sent from the United States to the signing of the Treaty of Versailles. Ver-sailles. While she was in Paris, Dr. Barrett Bar-rett developed the Idea of an international inter-national organization organiza-tion of women relatives of ex-service ex-service men to work for world pence. The outgrowth of this conception concep-tion Is n proposal b form au auxiliary to the Interallied V jterans' association, which was receivjd enthusiastically by association delegates at their recent meeting in New Orleans. The international inter-national auxitinry is expected to be termed at the same time as the next Legion and auxiliary convention. Doctor Barret: lives in Alexandria, V'a., and ha served as president of the auxiliary in that state. Her ancestors ances-tors came to Virginia with Capt. Jhn Smith. Doctor Barrett is serving her fourth term as stale regent uf the Daughters of the American Itevolntlon and was president of the first club organised or-ganised In Virginia whose members were the mothers and wives of soldiers. This club later became the auxiliary unit of the Alexandria Legion Le-gion post. Maj. Charles Barrett. L". S. M. C, Iter son. was chief of stuff to Genera!
