Show DERN FOR GOVERNOR CLUB . A very novel and . entertaining dance was given by the ' "Dern for Governor Club" Wednesday evening at the Kit-Kat. The dance was well: attended and the fact that each dance was a prize dance, added an element of good natureed competition. A cleverly arranged program was the feature of the evening. Mr. A. Murdock announced the various numbers, introducing as the principal speakers of the evening, Mr J. C. Tharesen of Salt Lake City, Mr. Tharesen gave a brief sketch of the Democratic platform, its past achieve ments and future intentions. Relative to the opposition, Mr. Tharesen did not dwell very extensively on this, stating, however, that the past incompetency in-competency of the Republican administration ad-ministration would speake more eloquently elo-quently than anything he might say. He stated further, that the only objection ob-jection to the LaFollette movement was the fact that behind it was nu organized party as a foundation. Mr. Tharesen then exhibited and explained ex-plained a sample ballot which no doubt will assist the first year voters i-.i election day. The untiring efforts of Mrs. J. B. Kutiert, chairman of the "Dern for Governor Club," were chiefly responsible respon-sible for the success .of 'the evening. Mr. Murdock very highly complimented compli-mented her on her splendid efforts. Telegraphic advice from the LaFollette La-Follette headquarters, was received by the chairman of the club to the effect that all labor organizations absolutely ab-solutely endorsed Mr. Dern for Governor, Gov-ernor, of Utah. |
