Show SHERROD'S RECOMMENDATIONS Wm. H. Sherrod, a geologist of many years' experience, after making several trips to the Milford Valley and, spending much time in making u thorough examination of the geology and structure of the region north of town, reports at length. His report is too technical for the News to produce, pro-duce, however, his recommendation contains the real meat of the report. They are as follows: I have no hesitance in recommending recom-mending a test well to be drilled in the Milford field, the location of which may be determined later, but I would suggest that on any of the cross folds or domes from Milford to Malone you could not go amiss. The district is very extensive and if proven to be what I think ft is, will develop into a very large field of high grade oil. "From the thorough study of the surface conditions and geological formations, and a study of the reports re-ports of the U. S. Geological survey of the surrounding regions, I am coh vinced that you have a large area ov' land that can be developed into a profitable, producing oil field." |
