Show WEST ROAD IS ! TO BE IMPROVED 1 C. F. Harris, chairman of the ! Beaver county commissioners, upon his return from IGarrison yesterday, said that the county had money now on hand to start work at once improving improv-ing the road between Newhouse and Garrison. The first work to be done : will be the construction of permanent ! culverts in Pine valley and Wah Wah. ! Two miles will be surfaced in Pine j and one in Wah Wah. A tractor will be purchased with which the shoulders should-ers will be constructed and the road will be widened over the summit. The committee which had been appointed ap-pointed by the Lions club Wednesday Wednes-day immediately got under way and with the Beaver county commissioners, commission-ers, and State road agent, they went to Garrison and met with the Millard County commissioners. E. C. Knowl-ton, Knowl-ton, maintenance engineer for the State road commission, Wm. Osborn district engineer and O. A. Anderson, Ander-son, road agent, who had gone to Garrison from Delta over the Grand Centralj highway. From Garrison the entire party came to. Milford over the Pikes Peak Ocean-to-Ocean highway, where they were entertained at luncheon at the Atkin cafe. Both the Delta to Garrison and Milford to Garrison roads are units ' in the State road system and eventually will be improved improv-ed highways. The finances of Beaver Beav-er county are at the present time in such a condition that work will be started at once and with some aid from- the state an improvement in the road will be made this season. |
