Show NEW RECORD IN RACE Speeding across desert wastes, mountainous roads and rugged mainland main-land a Studcbaker Special-Six touring tour-ing car has just established a new record in a thrilling race against time from Freemantle to Sydney, Australia. The car was driven by John Burton a veteran Australian motorist. ' It went through a grueling grind of 2.SS9 miles in five days, 21 hours r.nd. 45 minutes. This is 16 hours and 12 minutes faster than the previous pre-vious record of 6 days, 13 hours and 57 minutes. In addition, Burton drove the Stu-dobaker Stu-dobaker through to a new record in his race, by clipping off considerable time between Freemantle, Adelaide and Melbourne. The Special-Six ne- gotiated; the entire 2,SS6 miles under un-der extremely severe conditions and came through in perfect running order. or-der. I This new Australian record of Studebaker's comes on the heels of new morks recently established by stock model Studebaker cars in Syrian Sy-rian desert and in the Union of South Aferica. |
