Show BIG SXOW STORM One of the worst storms that ever occurred here at this season of the year took place Saturday afternoon, and evening. The day had been dark and dreary, when about 4 o'clock the wind began to blow. There was a flash of lightning, a peal of thunder and rain began to fall which soon changed to snow. A regular blizzard followed. Electric service was cut off and the town was dark all night. Snow fell all day Sunday, but it cleared off in the night. The engineer on train 4, arriving here at 6 o'clock Saturday evening said) that all the way from Burl he could scarcely see thirty feet ahead of the engine. Stan Tattersall, driving the Beaver and Milford stage, made the trip in spite of terrible wind and snow and towed n several machines that could not make it alone. Oscar Larson with the mail got as far as the Foutz ranch and the engine en-gine of his car refused to work, so he spent the night at the ranch. Harry Har-ry Larson says, without any exaggeration, exagger-ation, machines came in with several sever-al inches of snow packed' solid on the windshield. |
