Show j Society j Wednesday, the twentieth, certain members of the Sunshine Class of the Methodist church gave a banquet in honor of the other half of their class. The class has been having a j contest for some time in which the j losing side was to give a banquet. , Prizes were given to the girls who had made the, most individual number num-ber of points. Miss Orma and Etta Devine, who tied for first prize, were each awarded. award-ed. Miss Gladys Colman received the second and Miss Eva Coleman, third. Those present were: Mrs. Root, Sr., i Mrs. Homer E. Root, Miss Pauline terry, Miss Orma Devine, Miss Etta Devine, Miss Eva Coleman, Miss Gladys Coleman, Miss Margaret Williams, Wil-liams, Miss Margaret Cochrane, Miss Alice Ward, Miss Ardella Stirling, Miss LuZene Jennings, Miss Betty Murdock, Miss Dorothy Murdock, Mrs. Beth Coleman and Miss Helen Carlson. ' The Pierian club met at the home of Mrs. Sadie Litchfield. Mrs. Roy White conducted the English lesson. Mrs. Lila Weber gave the first article ar-ticle on the life of Madam Sheim- TToinl.' THp bnetpec eprvpd rpfrpsh- ments. Those who enjoyed the evening even-ing were: Mrs. Bowman, Baxter, Weber, Pitchforth, Wilson, White, Young, Nebeker and Litchfield. Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Heaton and Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Baker made a trip to Zion's canyon last week-end accompanied by some of the Beaver faculty members, and Superintendent and Mrs. Poulson. They visited Zion's canyon first, spending most of one day viewing the splendors. From Zion's they drove over to Hurricane, Hurri-cane, where they had a plunge in the Hot Mineral springs. From there they went to St. George. They found Dixie at its prettiest. They returned home Sunday night reporting a very enjoyable time and a pleasant trip. Mrs. B. E. Hutchins entertained in honor of her daughter, Hannora's 16th birthday, on April 28. Many useful gifts were presented to Miss Hutchins and a good time was enjoyed by all. Those present were: Estelle Nebeker, Nebek-er, Elma Hickman, Myrtle Osborn. Verna Bird, Anne Nebeker, Jane Sloan, Mildred Nichols, Hannora Hutchins,' Dorothy Murdock, Bill Cochrane, Dern Osborn, Jack Ahern, Jack Turley, Lyle McGhie, Clark Kes-ler, Kes-ler, Willis Whitbeck Milton Hern, Elbert El-bert Reese, Glenn Stonehocker, Le-Roy Le-Roy VanWormer, Laurence Webb, RV.ph Tanner and Clyde Tanner. ' Mrs. Erma Gillies and Mrs. Pearl Hunter entertained the B. P. W. club at the Hunter "home Monday evening Mrs. Annie J. Atkin was the guest of honor. She was presented with a national na-tional federation pin. The evening was spent playing cards. Mrs. Susan Glenn winning high score and Vera McCalister, consolation. Dainty refreshments re-freshments carried cut in the club colors, green and white, were served to Mrs. Sukan Glenn, Mrs. Jane Lang, Mrs. Palmer, Mrs. Kate Twit-chell, Twit-chell, Mrs. Annie Atkin,.
