Show DESTROYER SINKS IN PACIFIC Collision Results in Sending Vessel to the Bottom. Washington. One naval enlisted man is dead, fifteen are missing and two are injured as the result of a collision between the American destroyer Wool-sey Wool-sey and the American steamer Steel Inventor, In-ventor, off the Pacific coast of Panama. The Woolsey was cut In two at the after tank by the collision and sank at 6 o'clock Saturday morning while in tow of the destroyer Aaron Ward, which, with the destroyer Philip, has 112 of the Woolsey survivors aboard. |
