Show MLNERSVILLE NOTES The Minersville branch of the Red Cross gave a dance in Wood's Hall during the holidays. Sixty dollars were cleared and one hundred and two new members were enrolled iu the organization through the efforts of the membership committee on the big membership drive. Golda, the three-weeks-old daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Baker, died Friday night and the fuuerai services were held from the residence resi-dence Sunday at 2 o'clock. Interment Inter-ment was in the Minersville cemetery. ceme-tery. The Minersville basket ball team played a rousing game with the second sec-ond team of Murdock Academy at Minersville January 14. The score was 27 to 6 in favor of Minersville. The ' high school entertained the players after the game at a sociable at the school house. Miss Frances Yeomans, head of the English Department of the Minersville Min-ersville high school, has been confined con-fined to her bed for the past week. Miss Yeomans contracted a severe cold during the holiday season and it will be some time before she will be able to take up tier duties again 'at school. The Messrs. Woodley Bingham and Glen McKnight left on Friday last for Ogden. The boys expect to take positions in the machine shops at Ogden. George Williams, janitor of the school building, has taken a vacation and our former janitor, Joseph Fisher, Fish-er, is substituting in Mr. Williams' place. At a meeting of the Beaver county teachers held at Milford last Saturday Satur-day Principal I. D. Stewart was chosen to represent the teachers of this county at a meeting to be held in Salt Lake City on Monday .next. Mr. Stewart will leave for the city the latter part of this week. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gressman. Both mother moth-er and baby are doing splendidly. Mrs. Henry Roberts, who has been confined to her bed for the past month, is now able to sit up. Mrs. Roberts suffered from a severe attack at-tack of influenza of the stomach. Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Mecham have returned from spending the previous pre-vious week in Salt Lake. Mrs. Mecham was formerly Mrs. Edna Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Mecham expect to make this their home for the. present. |
