Show MTNERSVTLLE. May Day was celebrated In Minersville Min-ersville by a big dance given by the high school. Wood's Hall was decorated dec-orated in streamers of green and white, with the time-honored May pole in the center. The feature of the evening was the winding of the May pole by the high school girls. Before the "home waltz" cleared this hall of the dancers, a dainty marshmellow pudding was served, o o o A number of Minersville students attended the "high school day" In Milford last Friday. ooo With the closing of school at St. George, Lucy Mathews has returned to her home In Minersville. Lenoy Eyre and Stanley McKnight have also al-so returned from school at the B A. C. 0 0 0 Miss Martha Meldrum, who has been out of school with the mumps, has returned to her home In Provo, having received word of the death of her sister-in-law. Mrs. Reed Meldrum. Mel-drum. Miss Wanda Hutchings of Beaver will teach the fifth grade for the remainder of the school year, ooo The Parents' Class of the Sunday School entertained with a dancing party In the Wood's Hnll last Monday Mon-day evening. ooo As the close of the gctiooT approaches the children nd teachers teach-ers of the school are busy preparing for the closing exercises. The pro- gram will be given in the meeting house on next Wednesday.. ooo The closing dance, for which elaborate elab-orate preparations are being made, will be held on Friday evening. One of the features will be the operetta "The College Girl and the Milk Maid," with Alberta Walker and Eloise Pryor taking the leading parts. to o o Wallace Osborne, the small son of I. Osborne, Jr., narrowly escaped permanent injury to his eye when he was playing with a shot gun on last Sunday. It exploded in his face, burning him badly and singeing his hair and eyebrows. |
