"Well Done" At the close of the reading of the statement and after same had been approved and ordered placed on file, Mayor Pitchforth took occasion to briefly review the work of the board and to refer to the good working balance left on hand in the treasury. He stated in effect that considering the small salaries received by the members of the board and the considerable con-siderable amount of time required to attend to the city's work, that the board had done very well; that no doubt there were places where improvement im-provement might have been made as is always true, but that everything considered he believed there was no cause for complaint. New Board Sworn The bonds of the new members of the board were then presented. Mayor W. F. Cottrell. Trustees Arthur Ar-thur Wood, Morrison Hickman, furnishing fur-nishing Trust Company bonds and Clark Kesler presenting personal sureties in the amount required. Leonard Bowen refused to qualify as he was leaving next day for Salt Lake City to join the navy. Mayor Cottrell suggested that the man who got the next highest number of votes should be offered the vacant place. There seemed to be no objection to the procedure and Charley Beard I was sent for and soon reported, his bond having been fixed up while he ' was on the way with Ralph Pitch-forth Pitch-forth and Wm. Elmer as sureties. Arthur Wood made the motion and Morrison Hickman seconded the same to appoint Mr. Beard and the vote was unanimous. Good Will and Harmony Mayor Cottrell in taking the Ma-orality Ma-orality chair expressed his pleasure 1 at the considerable balance on hand in the treasury. Ralph Pitchforth volunteered his hearty support of the new administration and received the thanks of Mayor Cottrell therefor. New Clerk Appointed The Mayor read the applications of J. A. Ingols and E. B. Jorgensen for the office of Town Clerk. Mr. Ingols. the present encumbent, would not accept the office again for less than $60 per month. Siewert. and the choice was quickly made by acclamation. Mr. Siewert's salary will be $4.00 per month tr j his bond is $1,500. i Tie For Justice i Two names were presented for the i office of Police Judge: Herbert Nieh- j ols. present encumbent, and E. B. , Jorgensen. The ballot stood a tie. two for each. Mayor Cottrell withheld with-held his derision for some future time.
