Show Tragic GRIM DEATH VISITSTHREE Miner Falls Under Moving Train and Instantly Killed DEMENTED BARTENDER PASSES AWAY IN TERRIBLE CONVULSIONS Three sudden deaths have occur-ed occur-ed in Miiford this week. The first is a particularly sad case. Mrs. Hardy, widow of the late W. J. Hardy who was killed by an accident while on an excursion with the- Mil-ford Mil-ford base ball team last fall, died very suddenly. Mrs. Hardy had been under treatment for some time but her case was not considered very serious se-rious and her sudden death came as a shock to the community. She dropped dead on Tuesday apparently from heart failure. She leaves two small children who will probably be cared for by relatives. The funeral was conducted from the L. D. S. church on Thursday afternoon under un-der the auspices of the Christian scientist local organization . The body was shipped to Salt Lake City for interment. Mangled by Train John Mullen, a miner recently employed em-ployed at the Horn Silver fell underneath under-neath a moving freight train Wednesday Wed-nesday night at 7 o'clock. The unfortunate un-fortunate man had thrown his roll of blankets on the train and was walking on a car of railroad rails when he tried to jump from one car to another and fell under the wheels. His body was horribly mangled and death was instantaneous. The remains re-mains were carried in a basket to the undertaking parlors of E. B. Jorgensen and prepared for burial. The deceased had sent a suit caBe to Caliente by parcel post and the officers sent to that city to have the case returned here hoping to ascertain ascer-tain something of the man's history and to locate his friends or relatives. A young man named Pat Connely was with Mullen and both had come down from the Horn Silver only the day before. Connely says he knows nothing of Mullen's affairs nor where I any relatives might be located. Mul- I len had about $42 in money in his pockets when he was killed while trying to steal a ride. The wind was : blowing hard and the dust was flying and it la said that Mullen had been drinking heavily during the after- n Ann Bartender's Violent Death Charley Albertson died at a rooming room-ing house on Main street Wednesday Wednes-day night. Mr. Albertson had been a bartender at the Oxford Saloon. His wife lost her mind some time since and this fact it is said worked work-ed upon the mind of Albertson until about a week ago he became Irrational Irra-tional at times and has been under the care of a physician and nurse. Wednesday evening he suddenly went into convulsions and after three terrible attacks succumbed. He was a man about 30 years of age and had came to Miiford three years ago last September. He is said to have relatives re-latives in Leadville, Colorado, to whom the news of the death has been wired, and the body will probably prob-ably be shipped to Leadville for interment. |
