Show Air Navigation Week Is To Be Observed Here President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Roose-velt, in a proclamation issued September Sep-tember 2f, set aside the week beginning be-ginning Monday, October 14, as Air Navigation week and a special invitation is extended to the general gen-eral public to visit the airways radio station at Milford during that week. While visitors will be welcome at any time during the day up to 9:00 p.m., there will be two operators on duty from 8:00 1 a,.m. until noon on Monday and Wednesday, and until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, to permit of one being be-ing free to explain in detail the operation of equipment and the primary purposes served by a sta-J tion of this type. Visiting at other, times and on other days is, of, coifrse, not excepted, but, as there! is but one operator on duty at such times, the explanations, although al-though cheerfully forthcoming,1 will of necessity lie comparatively brief. This invitation to visit the station applies also to students, i providing they have their parents' consent and are accompanied by instructors. j All radio stations in the airways j service, operated by the IJureau of Air Commerce, are following similar simi-lar procedure during Air Naviga-, tion week, with similar invitations to the general public to become acquainted with the purposes served, and for that reason, in ad-J dition to extending the knowledge! of the people of Milford and sur-' rounding territory of this import-1 ant phase of air navigation, it is desirable that the local station make a good showing a- reganis the number of visitors during the week. To this end the entire personnel per-sonnel of Station K(.'AT. Airways. Radio station, Milford, 1'1,'th, mo t. cordially invite you to take advantage ad-vantage of this "open hou c" peri-, oil and pay them a visit. The invitation in-vitation is a joint one from George S. Morris, operator in charge, and his a-sistants, '.. Y. Key, T. ('. Perkins and J. C. Gemmill. |
