Show Mrs. F. E. Casterline and children chil-dren are enjoying a visit in southern south-ern California cities. A truck load off Milford Boy Scouts returned Saturday from the district camp at Navajo lake. The Flint McClellan family left Milford last week for their former home in Payson after several years residence in Beaver and Milford. Mrs. Harry Caen and children of Compton, California, arrived in Milford Wednesday morning for several days visit with relatives and friends. Gene Kirk, accompanied by his two daughters, Kathryn and Elaine, returned home Tuesday after visiting in Salt Lake a few days. Judge E. W. Clay, was in from Burbank Monday, visiting with his son, L. G. Clay, who recently returned re-turned from Circleville, where he had been located for several weeks. Mrs. Gertrude Dewey, popular clerk in the Jefferson store, underwent under-went a major operation last Friday Fri-day at the local hospital. Mrs. Dewy is getting along nicely and expects to be "back on the job" soon. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Swapp drove up from Kanak last Thursday and visited at the home of the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. David S. Williams. Mrs. Swapp will remain in Milford a few weeks while her husband assists with the care of the famous Arizona atate-ownted herd of wild buffalo in House Rock valley. Mrs. Max Root and son Maurice are over from Cedar City to spend several days with home folks. Miss MarjcTie Barnett ot Marysvale has been a guest at the homes of Sam and Harold Cline the past two weeks. A typical Milford valley warm spell was eased somewhat Wednesday Wednes-day night with a surprise storm which included rain, hail and thunder thun-der and lightning in quantity and quality sufficient to rouse some of our best sleepers. Max Trautman Sunday night came up from San Bernardino to spend the usual two months cn his hay ranch south of town. He is feeling and looking well and getting get-ting along in fine shape despite his failing eye-sight. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Craven and Miss Margaret Moore of Provo spent Saturday and Sunday at the "home of their sister, Mrs. J. M. Williams. Miss Helen Craven and her brother Charles returned heme with them after visiting here a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. L. A Wynaught returned re-turned Tuesday from Richfield where they had stayed over night following their attendance at the Helper meeting of the Associated Civics Clubs of Southern Utah, of which Mr. Wynaught is a director and first vice president. Mrs. J. C. Smith was hostess to the Five Suit Bridge club at her home Monday night. Thse present pre-sent were Mrs. J. M. Williams, I Mrs. D. S. Williams, Mrs. Gene Kirk, Mrs. George Rodgers, Mrs. J. M. Hughes, Mrs. William Cochrane Coch-rane and Mrs. Frank Kuehen-meister. Kuehen-meister. Mrs. Cochrane was the winner of the club prize, Mrs. Rodgers the house prize and Mrs. J. M. Williams the consolation prize. A number of women met with Mrs. J. M. Hughes Tuesday evening eve-ning to help her celebrate her birthday. Bridge was played and those enjoying the evening were Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen, Mrs. La-Mar La-Mar Outzen, Mrs. George Moore, Mrs. Antone Johnson, Mrs. James Lang, Mrs. E. L. Smith, Mrs. Gene Kirk, Mrs. Charlotte Smyth, Mrs. J. C. Smith, Mrs. M. H. Pool, Mrs. Laurence Peterson and Mrs. Ploriii Bingham. Mrs. J. C. Smith ws the winner of the high score prize I and Mrs. Peterson reveivfed fchfe traveling and consolation prizes. Dave Lewis left Tuesday afternoon after-noon for several weeks visit at Scu'.h Gate, California, with Mr. and Mrs. Scott Tanner. Mrs. J. M. Hughes entertained at a bridge party last Friday night with Mrs. B. T. Walker receiving re-ceiving high score prize, Mr3. M. H. Pool the traveling prize ana Mrs. Ethel Nielsen consolation prize. Others present were Mrs. Laurence Peterson, Mrs. J. C. Smith, Mrs. LaMar Outzen, Mrs. Antone Johnson, Mrs. Jack Weston, Wes-ton, Mrs. Marie Lewis, Mrs. Thomas Thom-as Gerrard and Mrs. George Fern-ley. Fern-ley. Carlos Murdock of Beaver, son of Gecrge C. Murdock, county distributor dis-tributor for Texaco products, spent some time in Milford Wednesday, accompanying LaVon Thompson in a get-acquainted tour of the business busi-ness district. The Main street Texaco station recently purchased and fitted up by the Murdocks, has been leased to Mr. Thompson for operating and the latter expects to conduct an advertising campaign cam-paign and otherwise prepare for a share of the business of local ear owners. |
