Show Athletes Win Honors Ted Weber, brilliant Milford high school distance runner, took the mile event in the state high school meet at Salt Lake City last Saturday and this accounted for five of the six points made by Milford in the meet. Douglas Ryan took fifth place in the 220 low hurdles event. Young Weber, who promises to be a great two-miler during his college career, according to Coach Floyd Kotter, had the start of this career assured last week with the designation of Ted a3 the recipient of the L'nion Pacific scholarship to the U. 9: A. C. at Logan. The Salt Lake Tribune, telling of the mile event in Saturday's meet, had the following to say of the winner: "Ted Weber, a curly-headed curly-headed kid with a heart as big as the range lands near his native Milford, surprised the experts as he shook off the best the rest of the state could offer in the gruelling gruel-ling mile run and won going away".
