Show o Schools Divided For Contest Work High schools with enrollments under 500 will be classed separately separate-ly so that they can have better opportunity op-portunity to compete in the eighth annual speech tournament and drama festival at Brigham Young university, April 1, 2, and 3. Forty-two events in debating, oratory, ora-tory, extemporaneous speaking, humorous and dramatic; reading, and one-act plays may be entered. Milford high school is one of the schools which will be entered in the contest work. New features will be demonstrations demon-strations of how to make up any-type any-type of theatrical character; how to record and test voices; and how to conduct "Commeddia dell Arte," a form of improvising pi a vs. Sheridan's "The Rivals" will be presented by varsity actors April 1. There will be three banquets and numerous panel discussions besides be-sides the contests. Certificates of merit and placque will be given winners. Last year more than 400 participants parti-cipants from 40 schools attended. Dr. T. Earl Pardoe, who recently-returned recently-returned from study and teaching at Louisiana state university, is in charge. o |
