Show ! With the Colors i (From Corp. 'Jim W. Patterson of ! Milford) Somewhere in England, October 14, 1942. Editor Milford News. Dear Mr. Williams: Just a few lines to you and all the home town folks to let you know I am fine and wish to hell I were back in the good old town of Milford for awhile. Although I am getting along fine and am very glad to be serving my country in foreign war service, I would like to see everyone at home. ! If any of the old foreign wars men have any old addresses that they would like to send over and have me look up, give them my address. The weather here is as changeable change-able as the women are in the U. S. : first it is cold, then hot, then storms though it never gets too hot. Since I joined the service I have seen lots of country. I always wanted to come over on this side but one can't see much at a time like we are facing. It is hard to get any good news from over there, and especially from our home towns. We have some news here and some unpleasant un-pleasant moments, but so far I have had lots of fun. As the old saying goes: for fun, make your own! It is difficult to get cigarets and soap and paper. We thought the U iS O was for that, but so f ar we've never got anything and everyone ev-eryone is feeling hard against them. Will close, hoping all are well, especially my mother. I remain, Sincerely, Corp. Jim W. Patterson, 761 Engr. Ry. Trans. Co., A.P.O. 513, co Postmaster, New York. |
