Show John M. Williams was up f'oYn Los Angelos for a visit with home folks. Mr3. Wilson Moore and son Douglas left Tuesday for a few days visit in Salt Lake. Miss Zola Fernley of Salt Lake: english teacher in the Milford high school, was a Milfcrd visitor this week. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hesling-ton Hesling-ton and small daughter left Sunday Sun-day for a vacation trip to Yellowstone Yellow-stone park. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Thiessen ot Ely, Nevada, former residents oi Milford, were visiting here this week. Tine Bingham is visiting with his sister, Mrs. Dick Johnston, the former Miss Peggy Blackburn, in Los Angeles, also with his grandmother grand-mother in Long Beach, California. Mr. and Mrs LaVar Voorhees and family returned Monday from Salt Lake where the family had gone to accompany Mr. Voorhees home after treatment for injuries sustained while at work in the local Union Pacific roundhouse. According to Sheriff Niels Jensen, Jen-sen, the Ford .truck belonging to Frank Pryor, which was stolen in connection with the Minersville postoffice robbery, was found the middle of last week on a road west of Spanish Fork. Nothing has been found of the party or parties who committed the burglary. Miss Gladys Gospill left Wed-1 nesday for Salt Lake where she will take a beauty course. Henry R. Gillins is visiting with his daughter,-' Mrs. Orvil Neilsen, and family, at Riverside, California. Califor-nia. Mrs. . A. J. Raines, assistant postmistress, left Saturday for a weeks visit with her daughter in Salt Lake City. Leland Gray, son of Mr. anc Mrs. Lee Gray, has been visiting with Mrs. D. R. Roper and daughter daugh-ter Mary in Caliente for the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Risner of Los Angeles, former residents of Milford, were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Martin this week. Conrad Whiting, former manager man-ager of the local Union Pacific hotel and lunch room and recently promoted to a similar post ax Caliente, was in Milford Tuesday on business for the company and utilized spare time between trains in calling on some of the many friends the Whitings made while here. Mrs. Martha Stephens of Logan mother of Mrs. J. M. Hughes, has been a guest at the Hughes home, returning to her home Tuesday Tues-day morning. She accompanied Mr. Hughes here from Logan where he had been attending summer sum-mer school. Miss Etta Devine, a former Milford Mil-ford high school graduate, was a house guest of Mrs. W. F. Cottrell over the week-end. iShe is now employed at Farmingbon, New Mexico, as teacher of home economics eco-nomics at the Navajo Indian Mission Mis-sion school conducted by the M. E. church mission board. She likes the work very much and will return re-turn there for 1938-39. Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Decker returned re-turned heme Thursday morning, i after a visit to Los Angeles. I Mr. and Mrs. George Rodgers : spent the Fourth of July holidays at Fish Lake, where they were j joined by Mrs. Rodgers' sister ana husband of Parson. Mr. and Mrs. George Fernley left Saturday evening on their vacation va-cation trip. They were to meet their daughter Ranee and her husband, hus-band, also their son George at Clay Flat, Wyoming, and from there motor to Jackson hole, where they would spend the Fourth or July. Word was received last week by local relatives and friends of the birth of a fine baby girl to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tanner of Lai Vegas, Nevada. The proud fathei is a son of D. A. Tanner and the mother is the former Nelda Eyre of Minersville, who, by reason ot Milford employment over a period of years, is looked upon almost as a native daughter. L. A. Wynaught, president ot the Milford town board, Dan Ferguson, Fer-guson, Mrs. E. L. Smith, Miss Margaret Mar-garet Moore and1 Miss Lorraine Gray represented Milford on the anniversary program of radio station sta-tion KSUB at Cedar City Sunday. Sun-day. MJss Gray, who recently woii a trip to Washington as a reward for Utah's best air mail week essay, es-say, was also announced as winner in the KSUB essay contest. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Peterson entertained a number of friends at their home last Friday night. Games were enjoyed throughout the evening after which a dainty lunch was served. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Kotter, Mr. and Mrs. B. T. Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Kohler, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Heslington, Mr. and Mrs. Mel Heslington, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Black, Mr. and Mrs. La-Mar La-Mar Outzen and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gerrard. The Merrymakers, another Milford Mil-ford 4-H club, met at the home 01 their leader, Mrs. George Smith, to plan a food sale which is to be held Saturday, July 9, at 11 o'clock at the Jefferson store. June 10 the club met and organized organiz-ed under the name "The Merrymakers". Merry-makers". The following officers were elected: President, Vera Jef-fers; Jef-fers; vice president, Alice Griffiths; Grif-fiths; secretary and treasurer, Elaine Baker; reporter, Jean Smith; song and cheer leader Ann McQuarter. The club meet3 each Tuesday at their leader's home. Miss Ethel May Tanner, daughter daugh-ter of D. A. Tanner, and La Moi H. Lewis cf Logan were marrien at that place Friday, June 29, according ac-cording to word reaching Milforu over the week-end, and Milford friends unite in extending best wishes. The bride graduated from the Milford high school as one ot the most popular girls of the community com-munity and attended the Utah Agricultural college at Logan fo three years.
