Show Attorney Harold Cline returned Tuesday from a ten days' business busi-ness trip to Los Angeles. William Steenbock of Los Angeles, a brother of O. A. Steenbock, Steen-bock, visited the past week at the Steenbock home. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Wilson and son Ernest left Thursday for Salt Lake i:t to attend the Democratic Demo-cratic : Ute convention. Mrs. Royal Y. Swapp and 13-months 13-months old son Paul of Kanab are visiting at the home of Mrs. Swapp's parents, Mr. and Mrs. David S. Williams. Miss Helen Jean Schow returned return-ed Thursday of last week from Enterprise, where she had been convalescing from operations she underwent recently in Milford and Cedar City. They were accompanied here by Jennie Bunker and Lee Hanchett, also of Richfield. iWayne Whddoups returned this week from a four-year enlistment in the United States navy. His first ship was the Wright but he later served on the Memphis. Also he did two years shore duty in Panama, following this with a period of service in the Caribbean under British direction. W. B. Kinner, president and designer de-signer of the American Aircraft company of Long Beach, arrived in Milford by airplane Saturday and spent Sunday morning visiting visit-ing with Dern Osborn, a friend of several years standing. Kinner was the designer of the airplane which recently set the California altitude record (22,000 feet) for light planes. Miss Virginia Ryan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Ryan, accompanied ac-companied by her mother, returned return-ed Thursday of last week from Logan, well on the way to recovery recov-ery from an appendectomy which she underwent at Logan. She thus lost out an the trip to California Califor-nia made by the U. S. A. C. band, in which organization she was playing the french horn when she she was taken ill. Mrs. Katherine Shingleton was hostess to the Bridgediers Friday April 12 with a delicious bridge luncheon, after which contract bridge was played, with Mrs. O. A. Steenbock receiving high points and traveling prizes, Miss Tannis Strofeld high honors prize and Mrs. Fred Jefferson the consola- tion award. Murphy of Los Angeles, An-geles, new assistant to the president presi-dent of the' Union Pacific system, was in Milford Tuesday afternoon for a meeting that night of the lccal Union Pacific Boosters' club. Also here for the meeting were F. C. Paulson, general superintendent; superin-tendent; H. H. Larson, division superintendent; K. E. Knapp, traveling trav-eling freight agent; J. F. Mc-Carty, Mc-Carty, traveling freight agent; and W. A. Rosenberg, general chainnan.
