Show Shearing Force Robbed ofTools Shearing at the William Morris corral at Newhouse was very effectually ef-fectually brought to a close Thursday Thurs-day night of last week when all the shearing tools of the large crew employed there were taken by some party or parties not yet apprehended ap-prehended though officers have investigated the matter closely from every angle. The loss to the shearers, mostly Escalante men, is understood to amount to approximately $2000 and left the victims completely stranded as far as proceeding with the work was concerned. It is possible that the implements were secreted in the neighborhood but, if this is the case, the hiding place has been well selected. One theory of the robbery is that it is a bit of sabotage on the part of organized shearers who were determined to put an end to the work at Newhouse, which was being 'done by non-union hands, but this is purely conjecture as there is nothing to prove that such was the case. n |
