Show RETAIL SALES: Returns for the first 11 months indicate that the value of total re-' re-' tail sales in the United States in 1945 reached the high figure of approximately approxi-mately 74 billion dollars as compared com-pared with the previous high record rec-ord of 69,484 million dollars in 1944. I Retail prices rose in 1945 to a new high peak for the upward trend which began with the outbreak of the war in 1939. Prices in 1945 averaged aver-aged 40.1 per cent higher than in the prewar year of 1938. |
