Show '30,000 Persons ! Expected Present I At Cedar Event I Probably 30,000 persons, the largest congregation ever to gather anywhere in southern Utah, it is expected, will be checked into Cedar City during the four days of the annual encampment of the Black-hawk Black-hawk Indian war veterans and Utah pioneers, which opens on August 4. And, from late reports of various committees, visitors are destined to see the most fascinating fascinat-ing show ever to be staged in this section a celebration which combines com-bines an outstanding tribute to Utah's Indian fighters and early pioneers, with an exhilerating por-tryal por-tryal of this state's 87 years of progress and the most colorful entertainment and amusement features fea-tures in the west. Cedar City has spared no effort in its attempt to make this years encampment one of the most outstanding ever i held. The pageant promises to be one of . the most outstanding productions , of its kind ever attempted, according accord-ing to members of the special committee. com-mittee. Augmented by a 50-piece symphony orchestra and a choir of 100 voices, this presentation promises pro-mises to be one of the features of the affair. The grand annual parade will take place Wednesday morning August 5, at 9:30 o'clock, and pro-: mises to be a colorful spectacle. ' All communities, service clubs and other organizations of southern Utah are being given the oppor- j tunity of entering floats in the parade and many of them already have signified their intention ofj doing so. ! For the west there is nothing like a real rodeo and Cedar City , Blackhawk officials have arranged, for the best shows ever to be seen Opening with a magnificent historical his-torical pageant on Tuesday evening eve-ning at the Branch Agricultural college campus, the remainder of the week will provide ample entertainment enter-tainment for every possible taste, there. Brahma steers and bucking horses are being shipped to Cedar City to augment the abundance of naturally wild rodeo stock already here for- the rodeo performances during the afternoons of Wednesday, Wednes-day, Thursday and Friday. |
