SJvVi Items of interest taken from the j ln jHc3j pS? )) Files of the Milford News of 1 J - 11 Fifteen years ago this week J Miles White was reported too ill to work Monday as a result of a trip to Minersville Saturday night. The little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Fernley had run her hand and arm through an electric wringer and had been severly injured in-jured but was reported improving. A surprise party had been given for Mr. and Mrs. Ted Bird at their home. Old fashioned games had been played and refreshments served until late in the evening. Those present had been: Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Pitchforth, Mr. and Mrs. Jorgensen, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Burns, Mr and Mrs. J. S. Hanks, Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Woodbury, Mr. and Mrs. James Tanner, Mr and Mrs. Dave Tanner, Mr. and Mrs. Fernley, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Arlington, Ar-lington, Mrs. Abe Fotheringham, Mrs. Mattie Munford, Mrs. Jennie Smith, Mrs. Emma Smith, Mrs. Susie Smith, Mrs. Burton, Miss Worley and Robert Matheson. A luncheon had been given by the Service Star Legion in honor of Mrs. I. Cline, the affair being a complete success. Mrs. Anna Grimshaw and Miss Eleanor Griffiths Grif-fiths had given some very beautiful beauti-ful musical selections and toasts had been responded to by Mrs. P. J. Adams, Mrs. Christy Lee, Mrs. Julia A. Smithson, Mrs. Bess M. Coon, Mrs. McCormick and Mrs. Allen Hedges. The Minersville Commercial club had got off to a fine beginning the preceding Friday when a brilliant bril-liant get-together big time had been staged with "brilliant lights, gay colors, well-dressed men, beautiful women, badges, bright music novelty talent, wisdom and wit and a banquet fit for a king." j Musical numbers at the program had included a solo by Eloise Murdock, violin solo, Reece Griffiths, Grif-fiths, and a soprano solo by Mrs. Herbert Hall. George Marshall jr., as president of the organization, organiza-tion, had given a splendid clear-cut clear-cut and convincing speech and the Honorable O. F. McShane of Beaver Bea-ver had also spoken.
