Wrenn persuaded his Irish father, who helped construct the Union Pacific, to aid him to get a job on the same railroad. Young Wrenn went to work with wood-burning locomotives, oil-lamp lit offices and a determination to get ahead. Today he's started on his fifty-first year with thz Union Pacific and since his promotion to traveling passenger agent has traveled more than 1,000,000 mi'os. In celebration of the event Stewardesses Thelma Ristvedt, Beatrice Van Ackeren, Mary Costello, Ruth Penner and Laura Sypin helped him cut a huge "birthday" "birth-day" cake.
