Show CIIRISTIANSCIENCE "Matter" is the subject of the lesson-sermon to be read by the Christian Science Society in Milford Mil-ford Sunday, March 20. Included among the Biblical selections se-lections is the following: "Now when he (Jesus) came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And he came and touched the bier. And he said, young man, I say unto thee, Arise. And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak" (Luke 7: 12, 14, 15). Correlative to the selection is the following from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Scrip-tures" by Mary Baker Eddy: "Jesus said (John 8:5), 'If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.' That statement is not confined to spiritual life, but includes in-cludes all the phenomena of existence. ex-istence. Jesus demonstrated this, healing the dying and raising th dead. Mortal mind must part with error, must put off itself with its deeds, and immortal manhood, the Christ ideal, will appear. Faith should enlarge its borders and strengthen its base by resting upon Spirit instead of matter" (p. 429). |
