Show Mrs. Will Fernley of Caliente is a Milford visitor. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Dean returned re-turned Tuesday night from a visit in Salt Lake. Mr-l. Walter Carlton and two children of Beaver were Milford visitors the first of the week. Members of the Venus and Adonis club were guests Saturday night at the P. E. Beecher home in Beaver. Mrs. J. M. Hughes and Mrs. J. C. Smith motored to Salt Lake Tuesday to be in attendance at the L. D. S. conference.. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Clark motored to Beaver Saturday and were guests of Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Beecher over night. Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Kanert left Tuesday for San Diego, California, Califor-nia, to visit with Mr. Kanert's parents and also to attend the fair. Mrs. Clara Vaseleau and little daughter are . here from Los Angeles lor a visit with her mother, mo-ther, Mrs. . Mattie Ferguson, and and Mrs. C. F. Decker left Monday for Eldon, Missouri, where they will visit with Mr. Decker's mother and other relatives rela-tives and friends. The G. I. A. ladies gave a party at the John Killam home last Thursday night for Mrs. Killam, who left Sunday for Lynndyl to make her home.. Editor David S. Williams returned re-turned Tuesday from Salt Lake where he attended the meeting of the Utah State Press association and transacted other business. Mrs. Wilson Moore was hostess to the Big Four bridge club at her home Wednesday night with Mrs. Lloyd Lee receiving the club prize. Those present were Mes- 1 dames Lloyd Lee, B. F. Hutchins, G. C. Cuddy, J. C. Jeffers, J. H. Hanlon, Ray Malstrom and Cass Root. The newly established shop class . at the Milford high school is pre-, pre-, pared to repair window screens ' and similar articles for the Milford Mil-ford townspeople, according to Instructor In-structor J. M. Hughes. All labor will be done free with a charge being made only for the materials used. A bridal shower was given for Miss Olive McCulley Tuesday night at the home of Miss Evelyn Hickman. The time was spent building the brides house. Prizes were won by Leola Stewart and Zola Rogers. . There were eighteen eigh-teen girls present and Miss McCulley Mc-Culley was the recipient of many beautiful gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Norman C. Eck-man Eck-man spent a couple of days in Salt Lake the first of the week. They were accompanied to Salt Lake by Mrs. Bessie Weir and two children, who will make their home there, Mrs. Weir's husband, Dr. Irvin Weir, being engaged in interne work at the Holy Cross hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Ross C. Palmer returned re-turned Monday from Provo, where they . accompanied their daughter, Miss Phyllis Whitbeck, who entered on her first year of college work at Brigham Young university. They also spent a couple cou-ple of days in Salt Lake, taking in the state fair and being present for the brief visit in. Salt Lake of President Roosevelt. Mrs. J. L. Low entertained at an informal gathering Wednesday Wednes-day eveninig, the time being spent playing bridge. Mrs. L. G. Clay was the winner of the high score prize and Mrs. I. L. Kelly received the consolation prize. Those present pre-sent were Mesdames L. G. Clay, I. L. Kelly, David S. Williams, O. C. Koch, J. R. Murdock sr., Roy White, Vena Wilson and J. D. Johnston. Twelve New York CCC en-rollees en-rollees who had been stationed at the Cedar City camp, were transferred trans-ferred temporarily to the Milford camp this week to assist the local construction cadre in finishing up with some of the barracks work. Milford is reported in line now to get the next 200 enrollees coming into the Fort Douglas district and this camp can then proceed with some of the projects which have been ready to get underway for several weeks. |
