Stewart) (Too late for last week) In the past few days warm weather with rain has melted the snow in most places, leaving only heavy drifts and mud in the high-way. high-way. ; Thursday evening the camp enjoyed en-joyed a talkie, "Ceiling Zero." We have "Miss Fleet" scheduled for the week-end and next Friday, "The Case 0f Lucky Legs". Lieutenant Arvin has moved his family out to Desert Branch forest station. Mrs. Arvin left for a trip to Salt Lake City Saturday. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Selar Hutchings were entertained at dinner Friday evening at the Desert Branch CCC camp. Wednesday night Mr. Larson and Mr. Ryan were guests of the army officers. Captain Horn went to Milford Wednesday on business and returned return-ed the next day. Superintendent Barron and the foresters returned Wednesday enening from Milford where they have been fighting snow-blocked roads day and night for the past ten days. They opened 130 miles of roads to stranded sheep and cattle as well as to the Desert Branch camp. With the exception of a double crew working on the highway pushing snow continuously continuous-ly the entire camp personnel is intact in-tact again. Captain Horn and Lieutenant Hamilton left Monday for a business busi-ness trip to Beaver and Richfield. They expected to return Wednesday. Wednes-day. During their stay, Lieutenant Lieuten-ant Arvin is left in command. The work projects at Desert Branch-have been resumed and the projected spike camp in the cedars is expected soon to be established. Mr. Hedges of the forest service educational department was. in camp Tuesday and gave some valu-,' able information on job training and leisure time education procedure.' |
