Show i MINERSVILLE SCHOOL NOTES I The Assembly i La.-t Friday the mighty sophomor-j sophomor-j es gave the assembly. Little Audry ! Banks gave a reading and four more little third graders sang a song and ; acted it out. Phyllis Marshall then i j;ive a reading. Mr. Davis, Mr. Hall ' and Mrs. Dotson also came up to school and entertained us. Mr. Davis by playing a accordian solo, Mr. Hall by giving a reading and Mrs. Dotson i by playing the piano and singing. ' Sports i Basketball season is over. Yes, but what does it matter? Haven't the I students found plenty of other I sports? Such as baseball, tennis, . pitching hor.-e.-hoes and some of the . high school students have even gone in for jump-the-rope and hopscotch. Not only that, but even the girls are .-howing their skill at pitching horse- shoes. Helen won a game from Mr. Isaacson by pitching three ringers in succession. He just couldn't catch up with that. Sluffing The following students , are now making up their work for sluffing school Friday afternoon and going to Milford: Thelma Stoddard, Carma Corbridge, Helen Pryor, Xona Marshall, Mar-shall, Ida Richards, Clarence Rollins, Clark Dotson, Harold Dotson, and Arlo and Xeal Carter. Answers In answer to the article in last week's paper asking for suggestions 1 for Olive, she seems to be taking care of both fellows quite successfully, successful-ly, but if there ever comes a time j when help is needed ,maybe Maxine j will have the privilege of coming to her aid. Maybe! Instead of taking it upon her shoulders to ask for help when it is not needed. O! You Seniors I The senior girls are trying awfully awful-ly hard to get big and strong by pitching pitch-ing horse shoes. If you don't believe it just ask Nona and Helen. j o |
