Show "GOLDEN" TURKEY "Golden Turkeys" is the name given them by S. S. Rosenbaum, manager of Sanitary Super Market, 1G22 Melrose avenue near Ardmore in Los Angeles. And well he might, for he found eight gold nuggets in the gizzard of one of them. From I another gizzard he extracted quartz ; and a small lump of silver and somei I colored stones. The gold nuggets I ! were valued by a jeweler at over S7. Rosenbaum was cleaning one of a i shipment of 400 turkeys which ar-l ; rived too late for the Christmas rush! and which he was preparing for the' New Year's trade. The gizzard felt unusually heavy and in cutting it j open he found the pure gold nuggets. : "In several other entrails we found j very small gold flakes and quartz with gold and silver in them,"( Rosenbaum explained. "That one J find makes the turkeys worth a lot more than we are asking for them", he said. The turkeys are supposed to have' been raised in southern Utah. j |
