Show Salina Ball Team Beaten By Milford With the regular league baseball schedule ont of the way, it appears that the Milford fellows can play winning ball. Thursday afternoon the team, reinforced with one Minersville Miners-ville player, "Doc" Osborne, defeated! the fast SalinJ team, runnersup to the champions in the southern Utah league, by a score of 0-S, a batting rally in Milford's half of the ninth inning serving to even up the score and bring in the winning tun, furnishing fur-nishing a breath-taking finish for a poorly attended game. Sunday afternoon the local team,, with three Minersville players in the lineup, held the strong Camp Delano C. C. C. team to a one-run margin oi vsctojry in another poorly attended f'ante, which ended with the seo.-e f-7 for the Beaver canyon C. C. 0. team one of the stron rest teams to mnke an appearand on the lor-al diamond this season. Incidentally, the Salina team lost but the two first games of Ihe'r barn-storming trip, the opening garne to Beaver and the one here. All other fames, including Sunday's second game at Beaver, were smashin r victories vic-tories for the Salina team. |
