Veterans of the World war or their dependents eligible for adjusted service ser-vice certificates or for the receipt of payment of adjusted service credit, under the terms of the act, must file application for such benefits on or before January, 2 next. The law provides pro-vides that any application not filed on or before that date "shall be held void." Applications must be filed with the secretary of war if the last service of the veteran was with the military forces or with the secretary of the navy if the last service was with the naval forces, including the marine corps.
