Show SMITH AGAIN TO HEAD RED CROSS The officer personnel of the Mil-fold Mil-fold chapter of the American Red Cross was reorganized at a meeting of executive boar.! member. and wol kers, held Tuesday afternoon in the A.!. in lune!. J. C. Smith was reelected to the position of chairman despite his reluctance re-luctance to accept the po.-t again, expressing ex-pressing himself as being de-irious that the position should go to someone some-one else. Mrs. George Jefferson was elected to the office of vice-chairman and Mrs. I. L. Kelly was made secretary, taking the place of Mrs. Addison Bybee, who has carried on the work of that important office in a splendid manner but felt that she could r.ot continue. Mrs. Susan Glenn was re-elected as treasurer of the organization. , Creditable reports of the activities of the chapter were given by Chairman Chair-man Smith, Mrs. Bybee, Mrs. A. Cj Johnson, Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. Glenn and others. The chapter had been called) on for $10 as contribution for northwest north-west flood sufferers' relief and this! had been sent. Mr. L. F. Clawson,! who was made chairman of first aid work last fall, submitted a written! report, telling of the organization of both senior and junior classes in this; work a,nd of their progress. In the progress of the meeting it, developed that there is provision made under the C. W. A. to havej foremen or workers to take this course, credit for class work to be applied on time cards while extra pay for 10 cents an hour is allowable for those trained in this work. But no information along this line has been forthcoming from Beaver county C. W. A. headquarters, it developed. de-veloped. The executive board of the chapter, chap-ter, as now constituted, includes Mr. Smith, Mrs. Jefferson, Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. Glenn, J. S. Murdock jr., O. F. Hubbell, P. E. Beecher, Mrs. W. F. Cottrell, Mrs. A. C. Johnson, M. F. Pool, L. F. Clawson, David S. Williams, Wil-liams, Horace Palmer and Mrs. Parley Par-ley Fisher. |
