Show ORE STRIKE GIVES PROMISE BIG MINE IN LAKEJ3ISTRICT What is without doubt the biggest nnil richest body of ore thus far developed de-veloped in the north end of the Beaver Bea-ver lake Mining district and a prospect pros-pect which promises to become a "bin mine" in every sense of the word may be seen by anyone taking a run out to the property of the Beaver Cold and Copper Mining company, located some distance beyond the old Montreal mine and northwest of Mil-ford. Mil-ford. The property has been develoo-ed develoo-ed by A. J. McMullen, pioneer mining man of the district and in the face of almost insurmountable difficulties, but he has never lost faith in his objective and the present encouraging encourag-ing prospect is a fitting reward for his work and faith. Though not yet to the main objective, ob-jective, the present body of rich lead carbonate ore in the bedding has every indication of going both up and down while continuing with a splendid splen-did showing on the horizontal the full ten feet it has been opened up. This promising strike was made November tf, it is understood, but, wanting to make more sure of what he had, "Mac" said nothing of his good luck except to a few close friends; now, with the continuation of the ore body, he has not been averse to the news becoming known. With conditions nil perfect with the spar, the talc, the maneaneze and the high grade ore all in evidence and in a perfect limestone setting all mining men who have inspected the diggings feel that conditions are right for a rich and extensive ore body. As he has gone in farther the showings in the face of the drift are very red, showing good ore and indicating close approach to the fissure which is expected to come in from the east at a right angle. The new mine is located over the hill to the east from previous extensive exten-sive workings r.nd adjoins the property pro-perty of the Independent Silver Mining company, which is being given intensive development by L. C. Peterson and son of St. Paul, who also have a most promising property, according to report. |
