Show Eight Candidates For Board Members Quite a bit of interest in the biennial bien-nial election of school board members is being taken this year, if the number num-ber of candidates filing for office may be taken as a criterion. Especially Especi-ally is this the case in representative precinct 1, consisting of the east Beaver Bea-ver section, where names of four candidates have been filed with Clerk E. A. Griffiths. The Beaver county district school board consists qf five members, elected from the five representative precincts- into which the county is divided, all being elected for four-year terms but with the terms of the odd-numbered and even-numbered precincts interlap-ping. interlap-ping. Elections are held the first Wednesday in December of each year and this is the year for election of board members from the three odd-numbered odd-numbered precincts. The elections to be held Wednesday, December 5, but with only electoors residing in the respective precincts taking part. Candidates whose names have been filed and which will appear on the respective ballots are as follows: Representative Precinct No. 1 (Beaver East) S. Fletcher Barton, Reed Smith, Arnold J. Low, Homer D. Thompson. J. C. Tolton, present board member for that precinct does not appear as a candidate for reelection reelec-tion Representative Precinct No. 3 (Voting places: Minersville, Nada and Adamsville) Floyd Woods and Herbert L. Hall, both of Minersville. George Marshall jr. of Minersville is the present member of the board from that precinct and is president of the board but does not appear as a candidate for reelection. Representative Precinct. No. 5 (Voting places: Milford Project, Greenville, North Creek and Sulphur-dale) Sulphur-dale) Parley B. Fisher of South Milford Mil-ford and J. M. Crosby of North Creek. Mr. Fisher is the present member from this precinct and is completing his first term as board member. He is also vice-president of the board as at present constituted. |
