Show j 1 j Society Corner I L'm . ' , m m m i Pierian Club r The Pierian club met (Monday evening, May 27th, at the home of Mrs. R. B. Young, with Mrs. White acting as secretary in the absence of Mrs. Clay. After roll call, Mrs. Baxter Bax-ter conducted the English lesson which dealt with letters and letter writing. An article on the last meeting meet-ing of the State Federation of Wo-nens' Wo-nens' clubs was read by Mrs. E. L. lardsley. The hostess then served a lainty luncheon. The members present pres-ent were Mrs. D. A. Baxter, Mrs. E. L. Bardsley, Mrs. E.' L. Ferguson, Mrs. Robert Sherwood, and Mrs. vreda Outzen. Guests of the evening were Mrs. Lester Farnon, Mrs. Wal-er Wal-er Smouse, and Miss Maxine Bards-'ey. Bards-'ey. Mrs. Bardsley will entertain the lub June 10th. . 3irthday Party r Mrs. Wm. Vorhees was pleasantly surprised by a number of friends on Monday evening at the home of Mrs. W. K. Dawson, the occasion being her birthday anniversary. A game of bridge was the feature of the evening, and some lovely presents pres-ents were given Mrs. Vorhees. A three-course luncheon was served serv-ed to Mesdames Gene Kirk, A. C. Jensen, Chester Jensen, A. Smith, Chas. Husbands, Ross Palmer, E. Pitchforth, Stanley Vorhees, J. E. Wilson and the honored guest. Little Folks' Party y Maxine Carter entertained fifteen small guests on Monday afternoon, at her home, that day being her 4th birthday. Each child presented the little hostess with a gift. A jolly time was spent in playing games and refreshments were served. Bridge Luncheon Mrs. W. L. Vorhees was hostess at a bridge luncheon Tuesday evening, May 28th. Bridge score prizes were won by Mrs. Wm. Vorhees, points; Mrs. W. K. Dawson, honors. After bridge a tempting luncheon was served to the Mesdames W. K. Dawson, E. L. Ferguson, W. P. Frazier, Eugene Pitchforth, A. C. Jensen, Chester Jensen, Ross Palmer, and W. M. Vorhees. j "500" Club V Mrs. Alfred Horton was hostess to members of the "500" club at her home, May 24. A most delightful time was spent at cards with score prizes awarded to Mrs. Earl Dewey, first prize; Mrs. Myles White, consolation. con-solation. A tempting luncheon was served to Mrs. Warren Atkin, Mrs. R. E. Banks, Mrs. Merrill Edwards, Mrs. Walter Griffiths and Mrs. Leonard Muir. Mrs. Walter Smouse was an invited guest. Handkerchief Shower A few friends of Mrs. Earl Dewey gave her a pleasant surprise May 25, in the form of a farewell party and handkerchief shower, before her departure de-parture for Caliente. A jolly time was had playing '500' and prizes were given to Mrs. Dewey for high score, and Mr3. Horton, Hor-ton, colsolation. The following ladies were present: Mrs. Bill Ashworth, Mrs. Warren Atkin, At-kin, Mrs. Ronald Banks, Mrs. Merrill Mer-rill Edwards, Mrs. Walter Griffiths, Grif-fiths, Mrs. Ireta Neilson, Mrs. Alfred Al-fred Horton, Mrs. Myles White, Mrs. Leonard Muir and Miss Arvilla Muir. i Mrs. Langenbacker Entertains Mrs. Jack Langenbacker entertained entertain-ed members of her bridge club last Tuesday evening at. her home. High score was won by Mrs. H. F. Cnans-lor; Cnans-lor; honors, Mrs. John Weston, and consolation, Mrs. George Rodgers. Guest prizes were won by Mrs. Frank Farmer for high points; and Mrs. Gene Kirk, consolation. A delicious two-course luncheon was served to the following club members and guests: Mrs. Grover Cuddy, Mrs. John Weston, Mrs. Al Cline, Mrs. Geo. Rodgers, Mrs. H. F. Chanslor, Mrs. Geo. Jefferson, Mrs. Gene Kirk and Mrs. Frank Farmer. |
