After tho repairs nvo nuule the force will ho increased :uiil ore bodii"! on the lower levels will be opened up. The mino at present fcoes to a depth I of 1-00 feet niul it is the intention to eventually sink to 1:100 foot. Tho ore contains copper, lead and silver and since coming hero two weeks ao, Mr. Nebeker, who .is a on of A qui 11 a Nebeker, formerly of St. George, has made a through study of the district. He is an experienced mining engineer,' having operated in the Tintic and I Park City districts and in Nevada and the Philippines. It is his belief thnt a real district exists needing only development de-velopment work. He says all conditions condi-tions are exceedingly favorable. According to Mr- Neboker, there are thousands of tons of ore running 15 per cent, or better now blocked out on the lower levels, which, with modern mod-ern transportation facilities, can be trucked to Cedar City and shipped to Murray or other northern smelters and return a profit. This is not the case in the early days when it cost 520 per ton to truck the ore to the railroad at Milford. It is estimated that ore only 50 per cent as rich as that formerly mined can be taken out, transported and treated at a profit. The Apex has produced over one million dollars worth of mineral, and it is the belief of Mr. Nebeker and Sherman Hardy, local representative of the company controlling the mine that its resources have only been scratched.
