Show SOLON WILLING TO CONFER ON MATTERS OF LEGISLATION LAWMAKERS TO ACT SOON ON BILLS OF GENERAL CONCERN According to Sam Cline, Representative Represen-tative George Jefferson will be in Milford this Friday and Saturday and has stated in a letter - to Mr. Cline that he would be glad to receive any committee or individual who wishes to discuss pending legislation with him. In this paper is carried regularly a summary, of bills introduced and the disposal thereof. Lately, there have been some bills presented to the legislature that are of vital concern to all of Beaver county. One of these is Senate Bill Number 51, introduced intro-duced by Mr. Irvine. ' This bill .provides .pro-vides for the establishment of a state training school for feeble-minded. The location of "uch an- institution would depend on the decision of a Commission, created by the law. It will be remembered that the entire county has sponsored the Murdock Academy building at Beaver as a location. lo-cation. Mr. Jefferson has introduced House Bill No. 5C, the main provisions of which would tax all property owned by railroads and other public utilities operating in the state on the full cash value as shown by their sworn statements furnished to the Public Utilities Commission upon ..which their rates are based. Mr. Jefferson is chairman of .the Committee on Public Utilities and is also a member of the Committee on Taxation. . |
