Show NOT SCHOOL'S FAULT In this issue is - reprinted an article from the Chronicle, published pub-lished at Delta, in which" the coach of the Delta high school football team makes very disparaging dis-paraging remarks about sportsmanship sports-manship at Milford. While some of the statements may be taken with a grain of salt, (as derisive booing by small boys may be taken for granted by visiting school teams anywhere), the van-dalistic van-dalistic acts mentioned by Mr. Snow do not reflect anything but discredit upon our younger population. Chagrin because of a loss in football in no way mitigates the offense. Principal Andrews stated that he was going to make a special effort to fix the blame for the vandalism referred to, but that he had no knowledge of r.-iy unsportsmanlike un-sportsmanlike acts upon the field. - - As far as the game is concerned, concern-ed, the writer saw it and thought it an exceptionally clean one. Only one penalty was inflicted, that being a small one upon Milford for tackling a runner run-ner out of bounds. After the game, the teams cheered each other and left for their dressing rooms. Coach Snow and the Delta substitutes were noticed sitting on a bench on the side of the field where there were no rooters, with the exception of a few small boys, who possibly did feel it to be their duty to hoot and jeer. Members of the Milford high school's athletic teams have nothing to be ashamed of in their record of sportsmanship. |
