Owing to the small attendance at-tendance a social evening was pleasingly pleas-ingly spent. President Palmer may call a special meeting later in the month to consider Red Cross matters end other important affairs. Turkey shipments from our flat last Saturday were unusually large. This industry has been one of great interest among us this year. MINERSVILLE Mrs. John Allsen and sons Jerry and Phil departed Friday for Boulder Bould-er City where they will spend the winter with Mr. Allsen who has employment em-ployment their. Mrs. Rowena Kirby and baby of Preston, Idaho, are here at the Cyrus Brndfield home. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Carter are receiving re-ceiving congratulations on the arrival arriv-al of twin boys born Wednesday, November No-vember 9. Ross Fotheringham of California, spent Friday here with his parents, Mr. and' Mrs. John Fotheringham. Miss Marjorie Rasmussen of Paro-wan Paro-wan is here visiting friends. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Corbridge and Mr. John Eyre departed Wednesday of last week for Cowley, Wyoming where they were called on account of the serious illness of Bert Eyre. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Moore of Mil-ford Mil-ford spent Wednesday evening at the Wallace Outzen home Mrs. Ralph Tanner of Miiford spent Thursday night here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Eyre. Mrs. Kenneth Ward of Beaver ; spent the past week here with relatives. rela-tives. A number of people from here attended at-tended the L. D. S. quarterly conference confer-ence at Beaver Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Griffiths and baby of Beaver visited here Sunday. . Miss Marion Roberts underwent an appendicitis operation at the Milford hospital Friday. Ual Marshall had his tonsile removed re-moved at the Milford hospital Saturday. Satur-day. Jessie Banks was the honored guest at a party Monday afternoon, it being her ninth -birthday anniversary. anniver-sary. Music and games were the diversions di-versions after which refreshments were served to twelve guests. School Notes The Armistice Assembly, which was the contesting of Oratorical speeches, was very interesting. The high school band brought the students stu-dents and visitors to order by playing the "Men of Valor" march. Phyliss Marshall then gave her speech entitled entitl-ed "Washington, The Father of Our Country." It was followed by Noma Osborne's speech, "The Flag." Miss Arlinda Price then favored us with a violin solo. The speeches that followed fol-lowed were: "Tlie Flag and It's Meaning" by Maxine Hardy, "In Memorial," by Kathryn Vincent, and "Friendship of the Nations," Thelma Stoddard. The band again played a march. The remaining speeches were "The Life of Lincoln" by Evelyn Roberts, Ro-berts, "The United States" by Olive Hardy, and last but not least Thelma Hall gave the winning speech, "The Flag." ' The annual inter-class basketball ! tournament ended Monday. The scores for the games were as follows: for the first clay the 8th grade led the 7th 31 to 10, the 10th grade led the 9th 12 to 11; for the second day the 9th led the 7th 17 to 8, the 11th led the 10th 35 to 5, the faculty led the 8th 59 to 10; the third day the faculty facul-ty led the 9th 66 to 17, the 11th led the Sth 41 to 5, the 10th led the 7th 47 to 7; the fourth day the 8th led the 9th 12 to 6, the faculty led the 10th 53 to 6, the 11th led the 7th 29 to 0; the fifth day faculty led the 7th 5 Oto 12 the 10 th led the 8th 15 to 11, the 11th led the 9th 37 to 5; the sixth day the final game was between be-tween the 11th and faculty with the faculty leading the 11th 51 to 20. ADAMSVILLE Miss Revou Eyre spent Sunday at Minersville with friends. J. R. Griciths who has spent the past year in California with his daughters arrived home Friday. Mrs. Rube Grigiths of Minersville was a visitor here Saturday. Jim Brooks of Beavei was here the latter part of last week. A large number of people here attended at-tended the election dance held in Beaver Friday night. Mrs. Sarah Bakes our school teacher teach-er has been on the sick list the past few days. Mrs. J. G. Evans spent a few hours visiting in Minersville Saturday at the home of Mrs. Neil M. Griffiths. Charles Johnson, wife and Mrs. Sarah A. Jones attended conference at Beaver Sunday. Beth Griffiths attended a party Saturday night in Beaver at the home of Helen Mackerel!. LaVard Reese was a visitor Sunday Sun-day in Beaver. Among those who attend conference confer-ence in Beaver Sunday were Davii Pearce, his mother, Mrs. Kate Pearce i Margaret Pearce and others, j .Mildred Johnson is spending a few , days in Beaver with friends, j Mr. and Mrs. Henry Larsen and little son LaV'ar left Sunday for Salt i Lake City after spending a month , here and in Beaver wth relatives and friends. GREENVILLE Born to Mr. and Mrs. James Williams Wil-liams Jr.. a baby boy Monday, November No-vember 14. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Atkin and son Bobby called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Atkin Friday. They are on their way to Colorado. The Glcanor girls -ir.d M Men en- joyed themselves at a party given in the Relief Society building Tuesday evening. Games wee played and candy was served. Those who enjoyed en-joyed themselves were: Lena, Joe, Roy, Glenn, Eddie and Gerald Barton, Jack Elma and Editha Williams, Marjorie Atkin, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Walbeck, Gladys, Ralph and Nada Walbeck, Marguerite Bushman, Heb-er Heb-er and Elmer Murdock, Clark Griffiths, Grif-fiths, Ormand Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Blackett and Georgia Easton. A number of people have been ill with the flu. A number of people attended conference con-ference given in Braver Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Blackner and family and Miss Lottie Murdock spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Blackner. Mrs. Winn of Salt Lake City is spending a few days with her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Russell Scott. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Blackett entertained enter-tained a number of their friends at a chicken supper Sunday night after mutual. Everyone had a splendid time. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Blackett of Beaver spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan K. Barton. Max Mecham of Beaver spent the week-end at the home of Edgar Rollins. Rol-lins. BEAVER The Lessing Pool Hall was broken into Monday night. Entrance was gained by prying open a rear window. win-dow. The money drawer was broken into, but as no cash was found the thieves took a number of checks which had been drawn on the Beaver bank prior, to its closing. A quantity of cigars, cigarettes an candies were taken. County Agent Lew Mar Price has been confined to his home this week by an attack of the flu. Ralph Williams was up from Cal-iente Cal-iente to spend Sunday and Monday with his wife and son in this city. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Kimball spent the week-end with relatives in Fillmore. Fill-more. Mrs. R. J. Law, of Delta, spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel O. White. Mrs. Law was returning from Los Angeles after a month's visit with her daughter, Mrs. Loyal Frandsen, and getting acquainted ac-quainted with her new grandson at the Frandsen home. Mrs. John P. Murdock returned Monday from a three weeks visit in Provo. Mrs. George C. Murdock, Sr., who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Eph Mansfield in Salt Lake City, left for Washington, D. C. last Friday, going go-ing overland with old family friends. She will be in the east for some time enjoying new scenes, as the guest of her sons, Frank and Orrice Murdock and their families. Miss Kendall Franke, Red Cross secretary, and F. B. Robinson, of Rocky Ford, took Mrs. Axline, field representative from Milford Friday morning, in time for Armistice Day program at Beaver, where Miss Franke remained over Sunday with Miss Beaumont, chairman of Beaver chapter. Mr.i and Mrs. Warren Thompson and Alva and Collis Thompson were in Milford Saturday on business. Judge LeRoy Cox was in town to spend Armistice Day visiting friends. Mrs. Collis Thompson has been spending the past week with her parents par-ents Mr. and Mrs. James Mastros at Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Tohmpson of St. George are visiting at the home of Mrs. Thompson's sister, Mrs. Jennie Jen-nie Gillies this week. Miss Lottie Thompson has gone to Salt Lake Cty for a few days vacation, vaca-tion, while there she will be the guest of her sister, Mrs. Lyle Johnson.
