Elder R. S. Collelt treated the subject of farm life, advised the brethren to be more systematic in their work and do more intensive fanning. In other words what they do, do well. The conference closed with a stirring stir-ring address by President William H. Smart in which the Saints were encouraged en-couraged to make general improvement, improve-ment, to keep the commandments of the Lord and to cultivate greater humility. Hardy) The 26th annual conference of the Duchesne Stake of Zion was held in Roosevelt Amusement hall Saturday and Sunday, March the 17 and IS, beginning Saturday morning with an attendance of 356 and closing with an attendance of 820 souls. " There were none of t he general authorities of the church present. The time of the, conference was taken tak-en up by. the stake presidency. Members Mem-bers of the high council, heads of the Stake Auxiliary departments, representatives of the Genealogical society, and bishops of the wards. The conference really began Friday evening in a clerical and historical session consisting of the Stake presidency, presi-dency, Stake clerk, members of the high council, preridents and clerks of the Stake Auxiliary departments and representatives of the Genealogical Genealogi-cal society. All stake recordi present pres-ent were examined and audited for the year 1916 and clerical, and historical his-torical instructions given. This session ses-sion was practically concluded in an address by the Stake clerk Sunday morning in which he reported what had been accomplished during the past year in a historical and clerical ; way, gvlng the general conditions of ' the stake at the begnnlng and the . close of the year 1916. This work was reported by the chairman, president Paul S. Hanson, who gave a full and interesting account of the labors performed and the good, a c-i c-i eomphshed.
