Show WEEDS AND CIVIC PRIDE A town without weeds on .its streets and vacant lots is as rare as it is coveted. Weeds depreciate the moral and economic value of a town. They advertise it, but adversely. The force of this adverse advertising may cost hundreds of actual dollars to overcome. Bad news spreads more swiftly than good news. There is a state law against weeds. Certain weeds must be removed from property where they occur. If not re-are re-are not removed by the property where they ccur. If they are not removed re-moved by the property owner when he is notified of their presence, the county officer may see that they are removed and the cost there of charged charg-ed to the citizen and collected with his taxes in the fall. Weeds that are not actualy specified speci-fied in the law, may be declared "noxious," by the petition on the state board of agriculture. This petition pe-tition must be signed by at least 50 taxpayers. Weed removal would be an excellent excel-lent project for the Myton Commercial Commer-cial club. |
