| Show MT IT HOME SCHOOL At present the ambitious students of our school have ha displayed much Interest in the writing of stories poems and plays some of which have hava been published in the county papers Recently the students of the fifth and sixth grades participated in a spelling match the words having been chosen from rom a list of four hundred hundred hundred hun hun- dred common words the fifth grade winning the honors Some of our more patriotic patrons have visited our school lately and have thoroughly acquainted themselves themselves them them- selves with conditions Knowing the conditions conditions' under which the teachers are laboring they are not so prone to criticise the results as our chronic kickers who have never registered f their names on our roll books H H. P P. P Ottosen a member of the board of education visited our school last week and as a result our schoolhouse schoolhouse school house bouse will wUl be very much improved 8 Sleigh elgh riding seems to be the chief pastime of our community the echO school Jl mothe mothers s and the juveniles being the merry Many of our students have been absent from school as a result of sickness It has been reported that thata a a. few families are afflicted with measles but whether or not this is true care Is being taken to prevent the spread pread of diseases of a conta contagious contag ious sous nature It is a rather peculiar request for some ome of the good people of our community community community com com- to expect the teachers to keep keepes as es the standard time the individual time of each family in the community and yet have bave the correct time Experience Ex Ex- Experience is taught that if you listen to the whims of some people it it would be utterly Impossible to ha have any time at all The teachers secure the correct time twice a week from froIn Ro Roosevelt se elt and Intend doing this in order to have a definite time for forthe forthe i the commencing and closing of oC I school I |
