Show STEEL MILUIEE1G Tuesday night over COO people met in an enthusiastic meeting at the Ward Hall to consider the erection of a steel mill at Delta. A committee consisting of F. L. Byron, Chas. Pep-pard, Pep-pard, Wm. N. Gardner and M. M. Steele, Jr., was appointed, and authorized auth-orized and directed to act at once to secure the necessary site, the water, wa-ter, and to lay our claims before the promoter. Among the chief advantages set forth by this region are cheap food costs, by reason of the great area of agriculture around it; which in turn means cheaper pay roll costs; abundance abun-dance of water and lime deposits close; common shipping point to be obtained; and sulphur, phosphorus, and other minerals needed in the manufacture of valuable byproducts. Certainly Delta is going to put up a good strong and hard fight for this important measure. We wish our boys all success. |
