SCIPIO SCISSELS Mildred Esklund has gone to Salt Lake City to attend the L. D. S. Business College. Mrs. Wallace Holman and children of Woodrow are spending the winter with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Peterson. Mr.. Holman spent the holidays with them here. Mrs. Arthur Esklund, who has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Hans Esklund, Esk-lund, has gone to Salt Lake City. Harry Peterson, who is attending the U. A. College at Logan, spent the holidays with his family. The Olsen Bros. Garage is opened for travellers and is doing a good business. The building is up to date in every way and makes a big improvement im-provement in the looks of the town. A barber from the west side of the county has opened up a shop in the Memmott Bros, block and is doing do-ing a good business. Doctor Maxom of Fillmore was called here last Saturday to attend James, the eleven-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Quarnberg; the boy had the misfortune of breaking his leg. W. R. Thompson went to Salt Lake City to attend the Inaugural ball held Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Memmott returned re-turned from a pleasant trip to California, Cali-fornia, visiting their son Edgar in Oakland. Walter Esklund, who has been away tending sheep for some months, Is home on a short furlough. Mrs. Kate Ivle, who has bought a home in Watsonville, Calif., was here a few weeks ago and sold out all her property. The home and adjoining ad-joining lots were bought by Ralph Monroe. Otis Walsh and Miss Brunson ot Fillmore were married during holidays holi-days and will make their home here. We wish them a long and happy'life together. Messrs. Kinney and Hunter of Hol-den Hol-den have been buying beevies. S. P. Teeples, also of Holden, was here looking for strays. He reports Holden Hol-den cattle owners short 100 head besides be-sides those they have gotten trace of. Recent arrivals on the Stork Limited Lim-ited are: A boy at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Grantley Olsen; a boy at Ralph Monroe's; a boy at Erwin Brown's; a girl at Robert Memmott's; a girl at Frank Hatch's, and a boy at Fred Quarnberg's. The farmers are taking advantage of the mild winter weather" and good roads by hauling grain to the railroad. rail-road. Several carloads of rye have been loaded at Mills and Juab, and now the farmers in the upper valley are hauling their rye to the elevator at Sallna. Good roads are what encourage en-courage a farmer to keep up the good work of raising the wherewithall to keep the city cousins hale and hearty, |
