Show THE AUTO CLUB OF UTAH The new injunction proceedings brought by the Utah State Automobile Automo-bile Association against the Auto Club of Utah will only serve to delay the proper organization of the new touring body, whether under this or some other name, is the information informa-tion given by Ellas S. Woodruff, Secretary of the Auto Club of Utah and the Scenio Highway Association. Associa-tion. Mr. Woodruff believes that in suing to enjoin the use of the Auto Club name, the Utah State Automobile Automo-bile Association is following out an objective of throwing every possible possi-ble obstacle in the way of organizing organiz-ing a body that will be truly representative repre-sentative of the netire state. It makes no difference whether the present suit Jbe against the Auto Club of Utah or not, a new touring body under some name will be organized or-ganized to achieve the end aimed at, which will not favor any one section, but truly represent the entire state. So much dissatisfaction has been voiced about the present organization, organiza-tion, that a new body 1b really needed. need-ed. And euch e change will be most welcomely received in the majority ma-jority of sections. "There is a general feeling existing exist-ing pretty well thruout the state that the old touring organiation has used its influence in directing auto traffic to the detriment of many sections; sec-tions; this has led to a very unsatisfactory unsat-isfactory attitude, and the present yoke is irksome. Many country merchants blame Salt Lake business men for this antagonistic an-tagonistic fcondition, to the detriment detri-ment of business activity, A loss of trade must follow such a mental attitude. And further thwarting of the de-tire. de-tire. e,f the majority of the out of town trade cannot but be followed by a detrimental reaction toward the business houses of Salt Lake. The animosity aroused can best be allayed allay-ed by the new organization, which will be well received throughout the major portion of the country outlying out-lying Salt Lake City. The present monpply has manifestly failed to give satisfaction. Barclay John and his brother were up from Clear Lake transacting business bus-iness in Delta last Satnrday. They had with them a very fine fragment of ancient Indian pottery, with pigment pig-ment still showing, and Indian writing writ-ing around the border. |
