Show ONE MINUTE TALKS ON MING Idle Money Even in this day, with all the safeguards safe-guards and the many conveniences provided for bank depositors, there are some people who still keep their savings hidden away, constantly in danger, never earnng interest and out of circulation. Perhaps it is not so much that they lack confidence in the safety of our banks as it is that they do not see the many advantages of keeping their money on deposit, where it will find its way into circulation. After all, how foolish it is to keep money hidden about the house where it is in constant danger of being lost thru burglary or fire. One has but to pick up any daily newspaper in order to read numerous cases where money, mon-ey, supposedly hidden, was easily found and stolen by some thief, never nev-er to be recovered. Furthermore, every dollar hidden away or kept in a safe deposit box is out of circulation, circula-tion, to the great detriment of business busi-ness upon which we all depend for our livelihood. If every dollar kept in circulation stimulates business from seven to fifteen times its value, it is likewise true that every dollar kept out of circulation slows up business bus-iness to that same extent. Even small sums should not be kept Idle. Deposited In a bank they will find ther way into various business bus-iness channels, and at the same time earn a good rate of Interest for their, owner. Most banks welcome small sums. In fact, almost any amount Is acceptable for deposit. |
