Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Ivie of Leamington Leam-ington are visiting Wilbert lvie and family. Milton and Wilford Ivie of Aurora came to attend the funeral of their brother Edwin. George Peterson has built a new house on his lot and will soon move into it. Robert Evans of Balina bought a carload of beef here last week, paying pay-ing 514 to 7 cents live weight. Mrs. Trueman Martin has gone to Nephi to consult the doctors. Reuben Quarnberg is putting up an addition to his house, r Th Scipio Ward contributed $110 to the European War Relief fund . Local sharpshooters have had two hunts lately on the pestly jackrabblt. On Jan. 12th they killed 1606 rabbits rab-bits and the following night indulged in an oyster supper and dance. On Jan. 21st they shot 1235 rabbits, and on last Friday night enjoyed a free dance. Rumor Is that a hunt Into th8 upper or lake valley Is planned for the near future. Edwin Ivie, who has been In very poor health for a long time, passed away at the family residence early on Wednesday morning and waa buried bur-ied from the ward meeting house at two o'clock on Friday afternoon. Besides Be-sides his widow, three daughters and nine sons, Mr. Ivie Is survived by his aged mother, Mrs. Emily Ivie, and a number of brothers and sisters. He was fifty-eight years old and spent all his life In Scipio. Three sons came from Star Valley, Wyo., and a daughter (Mrs. Essie Bruce) from Los Angeles to attend the funeral, Interment was in the city cemetery. Mrs, Annie C. Jensen, better known as Grandma Jensen, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. J. P. Peterson on Friday night and was buried from the ward meetinghouse on Sunday afternoon. af-ternoon. She is survived by her daughter Mrs. J. P. Peterson and son Lars Jensen of Scipio, and two daughters in Los Angeles. She was a native of Denmark, coming to Scipio Sci-pio about thirty years ago. She has been totally blind for twenty years. If she had lived until March 6th she would have been eighty years old. Interment was in city cemetery. Henry Wilden and Thomas Wilden and family, of Mayfleld, have been nere visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eliot Wilden. The six weeks old son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Quarnberg died on Saturday, Satur-day, and the funeral was held at the family residence at two o'clock on Monday afternoon. Interment was in city cemetery. m Mrs. Edwin Ivie has gone to Los Angeles with her daughter Mrs. Essie Bruce for a much needed rest and to see if the climate there will help restore her health. |
