Show '. i Pahvant Valley Base Ball League Formed Interesting Dope as to League, Games Played and to be Played, also Names of Towns Comprising League. A meeting of ball managers of the various towns of the Pahvant valley last Saturday at Hinckley and the matter of forming a league was entered into. Repre-senatives Repre-senatives from Oak City, Hinckley, Hinck-ley, South Tract and Abraham were present, and Sutnerland was represented by Abraham, Deseret by Hinckley. With Roy Bills in the chair the meeting opened and the matter of admitting Oak City and Hinckley Hinck-ley into the already formed league was taken up. These towns were admitted and a new series of games was arranged for which is produced in this issue is-sue of the Chronicle. Those wishing to keep posted on the games of the season should cut out and preserve for future reference refer-ence this schedule. The schedule sched-ule gives you the dates, places , and the teams which will participate partic-ipate in each week's games. All games are to be called at 3:00 p. m., and will be played under Spalding Rules of 1915. Jeff Clark was elected president presi-dent of the league, and the board which controls its affairs consists of one member from each of the teams of the league. This board will arrange for dances in the different towns and other ways to raise money which will go to the league and will be used as purse money. This purse will go to the team having the higest percent at the end of the season. The board will also handle han-dle the matter of furnishing teams to play at celebrations at various times and places, and the teams of the league will be at the services of the towns of the valley during celebrations and can be arranged for thru the president of the league. It was decided that each team should collect an admission fee of ten cents at their home town when a game is played on that ground, such money to go to keep up the expenses of the team and to be divided ten per cent to the league, and the balance to be divided sixty per cent to the winning win-ning team and 40 per cent to the losing team. It was also agreed that each team have one good umpire to go with the team to all games. The manager of all teams in the league is requested to forward, immediately after a game is played by his team,- a report re-port of that game to the president of the league, Mr. Jeff Clark. Full particulars of the game are requested that they may be published. pub-lished. ' The game played June 5th, by Oak City and Hinckley, at the latter place, was a one sided affair af-fair until the 7th inning, as the Hinckley team had it all their own way, but in the 7th inning Oak City found Hinckley for a few nice hits, and pulled out with the score Hinckley 10 and Oak City 7. We wish you to note that this is the first game these two teams have played this year, and from the way the boys handle the ball, they will be right along with any of the teams in the league. They are teams for a town to be proud of, and the people of these as well as all others, oth-ers, should give their hearty support sup-port to their teams at all times, when they are losing as well as when they are winning.. In the game at Abraham last Saturday, between South Tract and Abraham, the score was very close, the teams playing neck and neck until the last inning when Abraham slid one over on the South Tract, winning the game by a score of eight to nine. We would suggest that it is poor encouragement for any team to play their best when there is no one there to take an interest in the game. It is only fair to give your support to your team, and encourage them by your presence at the game when they are doing their best for the honor hon-or of the home town. We all like to have the home town win, so let's all turn out and try to help them by showing that we take an interest in them. Standing of the teams to date is as follows: Team W L per cent.
